CAPitalizing on re-use.
Ben C and I started off by going around our dorms, room by room to collect bottle caps...we ended up getting a lot!!

Ben's first iteration was a candle holder...

My first iteration was a toilet paper dispenser...
I thought it was a pretty good idea at first since a toilet paper is something used on a daily basis so therefore, if we made a toilet paper dispenser out of bottle caps we can make use of/recycle them pretty quickly. But once I made it, I wasn't too thrilled about how it looked. I guess it was an idea that was worth a shot.

...So after thinking for a while, we thought of the idea of making a baby mobile out of bottle caps, wires, eco-friendly glue (we used hot glue for now) and hangers (hangers are recyclable! and so are wires!)

The different colors of the bottle caps gave the mobile a nice touch...making it look cheerful and ready to play with the baby! We thought a mobile was appropriate because people can make use to it as a gift for newborns. Everything we used to make it is totally recycled which is a huge PLUS. I thought it was a cute and unique way of utilizing the bottle caps in to a "something".
These are some of my sketches when I was trying to think of some ideas...
